The Erlang C distribution is used by telecommunication companies to measure waiting queues (immediate service) on their equipment. The Erlang C distribution is based on the following assumptions:
- Calls are served in order of arrival
- There is an infinite number of sources
- Blocked calls are delayed
- Holding times are exponential
