Elon University in Elon, North Carolina, is a premier private university
founded in 1889 by the Christian Church, now the United Church of
Christ. Students may choose among 50 major fields of study leading
to bachelor of arts, bachelor of fine arts or bachelor of science
degrees. A dual-degree engineering program, affiliated with North
Carolina State University, Georgia Tech,Virginia Tech, Columbia University,
Washington University in St. Louis and North Carolina A&T State University,
allows students to earn undergraduate degrees from both Elon and a
partnering school. Elon has three graduate programs: doctor of physical
