Meredith College of Raleigh, North Carolina was chartered in 1891.
Today Meredith is an independent private women's college—one of the
largest in the U.S. Meredith offers a comprehensive education with
an emphasis on an innovative liberal arts curriculum. At the undergraduate
level, Meredith offers more than 40 programs of study. Each major
is grounded in a new general education curriculum that emphasizes
interdisciplinary study, experiential learning and global awareness.
The Meredith academic experience is enhanced by a series of initiatives
that offer a bold vision for the future. The Meredith Technology Initiative
provides every full-time undergraduate student with a laptop and enhances
the use of technology across the curriculum. The Science and Mathematics

John E. Weems Graduate School
Meredith also offers numerous opportunities for graduate and professional
study and lifelong learning. Through the John E. Weems Graduate School,
in Raleigh, North Carolina, Meredith offers coeducational graduate
programs in business, music, nutrition and education. The Professional
Studies Program provides non-credit continuing education to business
and healthcare professionals, teachers, human resource managers and
paralegals. The Community Outreach Program features a wide variety
of non-credit programs for men, women and children.
