The University of Massachusetts Boston was established in 1964 to
provide the opportunity for superior education at moderate cost to
the people of greater Boston. One graduate school and six colleges
offer over 100 undergraduate majors, minors, and programs of study,
and nearly 61 graduate programs, including 14 at the doctoral level.
UMass Boston’s 26 institutes and centers are involved in research
and public service in the areas of public policy; gerontology; media;
labor; women in politics; African-American, Latino, and Asian issues;
and environmental concerns.
The College of Management is one of six colleges at the University
of Massachusetts Boston. The College of Management occupies the fifth
floor of McCormack Hall on the UMB Campus. The Campus itself is located
on Columbia Point, which it shares with the John F. Kennedy Presidential
Library and the Massachusetts State Archives.
UMass Boston is accredited by the New England Association of Schools
and Colleges (NEASC). The College of Management is one of 452 business
schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools
of Business (AACSB International). The College has three academic
departments—Accounting and Finance, Management and Marketing, and
Management Science and Information Systems. It is also home to four
Business Centers and the Assistant to the Chancellor for Economic
Development.
